Statement on Human Rights
As a youth-led organization, we believe in the power of young voices to drive change. Every day, young people living with HIV (YPLHIV) face challenges that no one should have to endure. Stigma and discrimination create barriers to accessing healthcare, education, and social support, limiting our ability to live fully and freely. But on this Human Rights Day, we are here to say, no more. We are committed to breaking those walls down, and creating a world where every young person can shine, thrive, and be proud of who they are—no matter their HIV status.
We, as young leaders, know that real change starts with us. We’re not waiting for tomorrow to make a difference—we’re doing it today. We refuse to let stigma silence us or hold us back. We call on communities, leaders, and peers to change the conversation, replacing shame with support and fear with empowerment through education, advocacy, and inclusion. creating spaces where YPLHIV are seen, heard, and celebrated for their strength and resilience.
The truth is, stigma hurts, but it doesn’t define us. It’s time for all young people, whether living with HIV or not, to rise and demand the respect we all deserve. We stand with our peers in the fight for equal access to healthcare, education, and opportunities. Every young person has the right to live free from judgment, exclusion, and discrimination, as enshrined in international human rights frameworks.
On this Human Rights Day, we celebrate the power of youth. We are the future, and our future is one of equality, love, and acceptance. It’s a future where YPLHIV can access the care they need without stigma, where our communities embrace us for who we are, and where our rights are not just recognized but celebrated. We are not just survivors, we are leaders, dreamers, and changemakers actively working to create inclusive policies and supportive communities.
So today, let’s be the generation that breaks the silence. Let’s challenge the stigma, stand tall with pride, and inspire others to do the same. Our voices matter, our rights matter, and together, we will build a world where young people, regardless of their HIV status, can live boldly, confidently, and without fear. The time for change is now, and it starts with us. Let’s make it happen!

To end HIV by 2030, we need to support young people living with HIV to feel loved and cared for. This support will improve their treatment outcomes and help them achieve suppressed and undetectable viral loads.

When we show love and care to young people living with HIV, we’re not just supporting their health—we’re empowering them to thrive and chase their dreams fearlessly. Suppressed and undetectable viral loads are the goal, and together, we’re proving that U=U isn’t just a fact—it’s a movement! Every step of compassion and understanding creates a ripple effect that boosts confidence, strengthens adherence, and crushes stigma. Let’s amplify their voices, celebrate their victories, and make 2030 the year we conquer HIV for good. It starts with us—it starts with love
